When: April 20, 2017 – 10:00 a.m.
Where: Dick’s Market 2280 S Orchard Drive, Bountiful Utah
What: MDA Summer Camp Ambassadors accept generous gift from Associated Food Stores

Salt Lake City, UT (April 19, 2017) Guests at 43 Macey’s, Lin’s, Dan’s, Dick’s Market and Fresh Market stores across Utah raised $78,772 to help free kids and adults from the harm of muscular dystrophy, ALS and related life-threatening diseases that limit strength and mobility during the 35th annual MDA Shamrocks program to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Funds raised during the drive will be used to send children to MDA summer camp later this year.

“We are grateful to our guests for their extreme generosity during the MDA shamrock drive,” said Troy Thomas, president of Associated Retail Operations. “We love working with organizations like MDA to make a difference in our communities. We are honored to help more than 20 children attend MDA summer camp this year and hope they have a wonderful time.”

Macey’s, Lin’s, Dan’s, Dick’s Market and Fresh Market participated in the nation’s largest St. Patrick’s Day fundraising program in which shoppers can purchase an MDA Shamrock for a $1, $5 or a larger contribution during check-out. Each Shamrock was signed by the customer and prominently displayed in each store, symbolizing strength, independence and life for MDA families in the community.

Funds raised also make MDA Summer Camp possible for more than 100 Utah kids. During camp they experience the best week of the year at no cost to their families at Camp Kostoplous.

Local grocery partners with South Salt Lake Police Department to provide Thanksgiving meals

Salt Lake City, UT (November 22, 2016) Fresh Market is bringing Thanksgiving to 25 Utah families this week through a partnership with the South Salt Lake Police Department. The local grocery store donated turkeys to the department’s Team Pal Thanksgiving Service Project, which provides Thanksgiving dinner to families in need throughout Salt Lake City.

“One of our biggest focuses is supporting our communities and helping those in need,” said Ryan Woodfield, sales manager for Associated Retail Operations, which operates Fresh Market. “We are grateful for the opportunity to make Thanksgiving happen for many members of the community in partnership with the Salt Lake City police department.”

This is the third year Fresh Market has participated in the service project, which provides turkeys and a box of items for a complete Thanksgiving meal.
