Associated Retail Operations Celebrates Teachers

Local Grocers Recognize Teachers During Teacher Appreciation Week

SALT LAKE CITY (May 24, 2021)— While many professions were hit hard during the COVID-19 pandemic, teachers experienced many unique challenges. In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week – May 3-7 – Associated Food Stores awarded four teachers, who went above and beyond, a $100 Food Club gift card, redeemable at any Associated Foods Store.

Guests were asked to submit a name of a teacher with a description of how a teacher has gone above and beyond. Over 101 teachers were submitted from across the state of Utah.

Sheryl said the following about the teacher she nominated, “She has taught children in person in the classroom and has also taught children who opted to learn from home through online lessons…. doing the work of two teachers. Her computer skills and creative teaching skills made for an amazing year for both groups of students.”

“We recognize the critical role teachers have always played in our community. This past year only heightened our appreciation for them” said Darin Peirce, Vice President of Associated Retail Operations (ARO). “We are excited to be able to recognize and support several of them.”

As a local company, Associated Retail Operations (Macey’s, Dan’s, Fresh Market, Dick’s Market and Lin’s Market stores) is proud to support our local communities and those who serve in them.  For more information about how Associated Food Stores gives back to the community, visits
