Utah companies share pioneer spirit with Flavors of Utah send-off


WHAT: Flavors of Utah truck send-off event

WHERE: Utah State Capitol steps

WHEN: Friday, July 19, 12 p.m. noon

WHO: Dave Davis from Utah Food Industry Association (UFIA), Neal Berube from Associated Food Stores (AFS), Rob Brough from Zions Bank and Rowena Montoya owner of Julieann Caramels will address the group before the final items are loaded into a semi-truck that will make its way to Washington D.C.

WHY: Flavors of Utah, an annual Pioneer Day event shares the best Utah products and services on a national stage, celebrating Utah’s quality products and the beehive state’s industrial spirit. 

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES: Representatives from the featured companies and event organizers will be on-site for interviews and photos.

Salt Lake City, UT (July 19, 2018) Senator Lee, AFS, UFIA, and Zions Bank will host a send-off event at the Utah Capitol July 19, with a semi-truck packed with Utah’s best foods to share at Flavors of Utah held in Washington D.C. The following vendors will join the celebration: Utah’s Own, Kodiak Cakes, Butcher’s Bunches, Pepperlane, Gusto Brazil, Julieann Caramels, Taffy Town, Lower Foods, Heber Valley Cheese, Creminelli Fine Meats, Madbrook Donuts and more. 


FLAVORS OF UTAH: Flavors of Utah is an annual event that takes place in the Russell Senate Office Building in Washington D.C. that highlights Utah business and products on a national stage. Hosted by Senator Lee and the Utah Congressional Delegation, Associated Food Stores, Utah Food Industry Association and Zion’s Bank with over 20 local Utah food vendors, Flavors of Utah captures the incredible artisan craftsmanship and the spirit of the beehive state’s ingenuity: going the extra mile to humbly deliver the best products in the country. 2019 vendors include: Heber Valley Cheese, Lower Foods, Taffy Town, Gusto Brazil, Creminelli Fine Meats, Mtn Ops, Pepperlane, Julieann Caramels, Madbrook donuts, Kodiak Cakes, Houwelings Tomatoes, Squatters, Apple Beer, Beehive Cheese, Chef Shamy Butter, USU Aggie Ice Cream, Sweet Candy Company, Butcher’s Bunches, Rocky Mountain Pies, Utah’s Own with support from Harmon’s, Lifetime, Utah’s Credit Union, Walmart, Ski Utah, and the Utah Office of Tourism.
