Macey’s Helps Guests Skip the Checkout with New App
Utah County Stores allow guests to checkout while they shop

Salt Lake City, UT (May 23, 2017) Macey’s is giving busy shoppers another time-saving option: the ability to checkout with their phone. The company’s five Utah County stores have partnered with the Skip Checkout app to create an exciting additional choice as guests shop the store.. The service allows guests to scan their items as they place them in the cart and quickly pay, and bypass the traditional checkout line.

Skip Checkout is easy to use. Guests simply download the app from the App Store or Google Play Store and set up a free account. During their Macey’s visit, shoppers scan their items as they place them in the cart. Once they have everything they need, they pay directly from their phone using a linked debit or credit card, Apple Pay or Android Pay and exit through the Skip Checkout lane, where they can bag their groceries.

“We’re excited to offer Skip Checkout and know that it will make shopping at Macey’s even happier,” said Ashlee Johnstun, customer relations manager for Macey’s. “It’s going to save time and free up the team to better serve our guests.”

Macey’s currently offers Skip Checkout at locations in Lehi, Orem, Provo, Spanish Fork and Pleasant Grove. The service is part of Macey’s commitment to create a Happy Shopping ® experience. The retailer also offers Macey’s Anywhere, online shopping and curbside pick-up, at all 12 locations across Northern Utah.
