Todd Lorenzo, a Macey’s bagger and dedicated athlete from Tooele, Utah, has been actively involved with Special Olympics for an impressive 32 years. Throughout his Special Olympics journey, Todd has participated in a wide range of sports including athletics, basketball, bocce, bowling, field hockey, golf, swimming and volleyball.
This year, he had the honor of representing Special Olympics USA in the bowling competition at the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin, Germany.
Todd, alongside Brandon Salveson, his Unified Partner, (Unified partners are teammates without intellectual disabilities who train and compete alongside Special Olympics athletes on a Unified Sports Team) competed in the bowling events.
Todd achieved third place in the four-person Unified Team and seventh place in singles, while Brandon, as a Unified Partner, secured third place in the Unified Team four-person team category. Yolanda Kunder, the Sports Development Director of Special Olympics Utah, expressed immense pride in the athletes’ achievements and credited their dedication and support from their families and teammates for their success.
