With FoodShow canceled because of COVID-19 in 2020 and a virtual version in 2021, the in-person FoodShow in 2022 will be one participants will always remember. The theme of the show, and the corresponding annual meeting, was Rise Together.

On April 6 and 7, retailers, vendors and AFS team members gathered in familiar surroundings at the Salt Palace Convention Center. More retailers registered to attend than ever before and booths were busy throughout the show. The FoodShow allows retailers to buy products and interact with each other, vendors and the AFS team.

Associated Food Stores provides its grocers with an opportunity to learn about important topics such as community involvement, local products, providing world-class customer service and its exclusive brands. Retailers then take this information and use it in their stores to benefit shoppers.

Along with vendor booths, retailers visited areas highlighting AFS services including digital marketing, ecommerce, insurance, store décor, printing and more.

“FoodShow is a massive project that takes months and months to prepare,” said Roger White, executive vice president of sales and wholesale operations. “It takes intense collaboration from so many team members and it’s great to see all the work pay dividends. The true payoff comes when we see the attitude and appreciation from our retailers. They leave uplifted and inspired. I’m so grateful to everyone who played a part in such a successful show.”

The next episode of AFStv is completely dedicated to annual meeting and FoodShow so watch for details soon.
