Notable Promotion at Distribution Center

Many team members know Ken Culverson from his work with the Farr West Distribution Center weekly videos. Along with Ryan Padilla, and other distribution center leaders, Ken has made tremendous efforts to enhance communication from the distribution center to retailers and the rest of the team.

Recently, Ken was promoted to Logistics Operation Manager and will lead the routing team. Routers build the delivery schedules for retailers, work daily to minimize retailer freight cost by building as efficient routes as possible and work on numerous supply chain initiatives.

Ken will immediately focus on the following:

  • Enhancing communication between AFS and retail on the pallet commit program
  • Implementing new routing software enabling the team to build more accurate routes
  • Communication and visibility to the driver team – increasing the quality of life
  • Increasing the loader work experience through innovation and communication

Ken has worked at AFS for 15 years. He started as an order selector and was a loader for seven years. (His colleagues share he is a self-proclaimed “top 5 loader” of all-time.) He was a router and has most recently been the coordinator of the module team with a focus on communication and the team-member experience.

Ken and his wife, Heather, have been married for eight years and have two children, Chase age 22 and Finn, age five. While not at work, he enjoys home renovation projects and baking.

“We’re excited for Ken to step into this logistics leadership role,” said Justin Johnson, general manager. “He is an innovator and team builder who is great a communicating. We believe adding him to a very skilled routing team is going to benefit our retailers and all AFS teams.”
