The aroma of grilled favorites and the sound of conversation filled the corporate office break room on May 12 as team members gathered for the latest Grill & Gather event.
Team members from across departments brought items to grill along with side dishes to share as coworkers spent time connecting over lunch in a relaxed setting. The event is one of many opportunities throughout the year designed to help Associated Food Stores’ team members get to know others around the office and strengthen relationships across teams.
Members of the executive team, and many others, joined for the lunchtime gathering.
“Gatherings like the Grill & Gather are a great reminder of what makes Associated such a great place to work,” said Lisa Snarr, corporate secretary. “Taking time to connect with our work family builds relationships that help us all work better together. I’m so grateful for the team that keeps pulling us together and providing fun, food and connection.”
While the food was a highlight, Grill & Gather also provided an opportunity for team members to step away from their desks, meet coworkers from different departments and enjoy time together outside of day-to-day responsibilities. Events like these help create connections and conversations that might not otherwise happen during a typical workday.
