OGDEN, Utah – Associated Food Stores (AFS) held its annual Truck Driver’s Banquet on April 30th, 2023, at the Ogden Eccles Conference Center. The banquet was held to show appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the truck drivers who play a crucial role in the company’s success. Other banquets to recognize AFS drivers took place at breakfast in Pocatello, followed by dinner in Boise. The Montana teams will be celebrated this Thursday in Helena, and on Friday in Billings.

The event brought together representation of all drivers, ranging from those with over 40 years of experience to the newest drivers with less than a month on the job.

To honor the drivers, team members from transportation and logistics attended the gathering, along with many from the executive team, including David Rice, Roger White, Travis Bowman, and Glen Keysaw. During the event, presenters thanked the drivers for their hard work, especially during the unusually difficult winter and acknowledged the essential job they do day in and day out.

The event also provided an opportunity to give drivers a quick update and forecast on the modernization efforts at the distribution center and the “back to basics” campaign in transportation. They were served a delicious dinner and there was a name drawing for items donated by AFS Transportation and other Transportation partners, such as Peterbilt, Utility, Carrier & Great Dane.

The banquet closed with a heartfelt thank you to the family and friends who support the drivers while they are out supporting AFS and its retailers.

Overall, the function was a resounding success, and the attendees left feeling appreciated and valued for their contributions to AFS’s continued mission.

“A great time of food, friends and fellowship was had by all,” said Wayne Kinder, transportation manager. “I thank all our drivers for the job they do, and One Associated appreciates them as much as I do,”
