Anyone traveling past the Farr West Distribution Center may have noticed a new message parked near the freeway: Drivers Wanted.
The recently wrapped trailer is helping Associated Food Stores spread the word that the company is looking for qualified drivers to join its transportation team.
Drivers play an incredibly important role in serving AFS member retailers. The transportation team moves products from the Farr West Distribution Center to stores, with AFS drivers traveling nearly 15 million miles each year.
“We’re looking for qualified drivers who want a great career and want to be part of a team that makes a difference every day,” said Drew Wischerath, transportation manager. “Our drivers are a critical part of what we do, and there are some great opportunities here at AFS.”
The Farr West Distribution Center serves more than 500 retailers across eleven states. AFS offers distribution center team members fair pay, multiple shift options, health benefits, paid time off, sick time and team member recognition programs.
The Drivers Wanted trailer gives the recruiting effort increased visibility from the freeway, but AFS team members can help the message travel even farther.
Team members are encouraged to spread the word to qualified drivers they know who may be looking for their next opportunity. A recommendation from someone who already knows AFS can help introduce more people to the opportunities available with the company.
