Retail Gets Ready for Warm-Weather Sales

As the weather warms, retail members across Associated Food Stores’ trade area are ramping up for the many sales opportunities that come with picnics, vacations and other outdoor activities.

Examples are many throughout store departments including:

Delicatessen

The delicatessen remains a one-stop-shop for quick, convenient and delicious food for a variety of warm-weather events. Whether it’s a rapid-fire weeknight meal solution or a weekend dinner featuring Utah’s best meats and cheeses, the delicatessen is ready to go. The delicatessen department is paying special attention to its smoked meats program to ensure stores are at their best throughout the season.

Bakery

The bakery team knows that warmer weather increases store traffic and can result in additional impulse buys. The ARO bakery team has a new bars and bites program and all new sets focused on lemon and strawberry flavors for the Spring and Summer.

Meat

Meat departments throughout ARO stores are preparing for what promises to be a big season filled with grilling, barbecues and a host of other opportunities. Stores continue to see impressive sales from their easy meal solutions and other time-saving items as shoppers want to spend more time outdoors and less time in the kitchen.

Produce

As the weather warms both in AFS’ service region and in other growing areas, produce departments ramp up for seasonally-driven items like artichokes, asparagus, cherries, mangoes, strawberries and more. The eye-catching ability of fresh produce is a great way to make a wonderful first impression and produce teams are taking advantage of every opportunity to highlight their fresh and juicy offerings.

Floral

With Spring nearing full bloom, the ARO and AFS floral teams have brought in new, local planters that will add that important splash of color to both indoor and outdoor events.

Getting stores ready for warm weather takes a collective effort from everyone throughout the “One Associated” team. Whether is the team at the distribution center, the retail teams or the support groups at the corporate office, all contribute to the cause.

“From a marketing perspective, it’s exciting for us to be able to talk about the many great products our stores offer at this time of year,” said Heather Hall, marketing manager. “We use our marketing platforms to ensure guests know how to get the best products at the best prices year-round.”
