In a heartwarming display of gratitude, Operation Homefront and Kent’s Market, along with their partners, came together to host the highly successful “Holiday Meals for Military” event on May 20th, 2023. This special drive-through event, held at Kent’s Market in Plain City, UT, aimed to honor and support local military families on Armed Forces Day during Military Appreciation Month.
The event was a tremendous success, with Operation Homefront providing gift cards to the pre-registered military families, allowing them to purchase essential items for a traditional family meal. The outpouring of support from the community was truly remarkable, as vehicles were filled with generous donations for the families.
Kati Calhoun, executive director of marketing for Kent’s Market and the 2022 Operation Homefront Volunteer of the Year, expressed her gratitude and enthusiasm for the event. The local military families, numbering 400 in total, were overwhelmed with joy and appreciation as they received the much-needed support during this special occasion.
Through initiatives like “Holiday Meals for Military,” Operation Homefront continues to demonstrate their unwavering commitment to serving America’s military service members and their families. Their programs, which provide financial assistance, transitional permanent housing, and ongoing family support, make a significant difference in the lives of these brave individuals who sacrifice so much for our country.
