Six new filtered refilling stations added for sustainability
The corporate office updated six drinking fountains with new filtered water bottle refilling stations. Executive staff members endorsed the update to help the AFS team form healthy habits and to benefit the environment by minimizing the need for plastic bottles.
The easy to use, touchless refilling stations include a green ticker to inform users of the number of 20 oz. plastic water bottles that were saved from waste.
“The update to the corporate office is exciting,” said Sarah Pettit, public affairs director. “It is anticipated that each person who uses a refillable water bottle eliminates 156 plastic bottles from our oceans each year. A big thank you to all those who assisted in making this update available to our team.”
The new stations include a silver ion antimicrobial protection key on plastic components, including the mouth guard to protect against microorganisms and to assist with the growth of mold or mildew. In addition, the powerful filter provides the cleanest water with the best taste, certified for eliminating chlorine or harmful additives like lead.
“We hope team members enjoy the new filling stations,” said Danielle Healis, wellness facilitator. “We know how important drinking water is for our overall health. The benefits of staying hydrated are countless but include boosting energy and aiding digestion. The addition of these stations came at the perfect time as we will be promoting World Water Week August 25- 29. August’s Healthy Minute Updates includes tips that will motivate you hydrate, and ways to participate.”
The refilling stations can be found in the hallways near HR, marketing, pharmacy, accounting, by MDI and the sixth located on the main floor on the West side of the Salt Lake Corporate Office.
