Case Lot – Get an Inside Look at Case Lot at Retail

Case lot sales impact nearly everyone at Associated Food Stores. Past issues followed the case lot process from ordering to shipping and now arriving at the stores. This is where the magic happens, where retail teams pull together to stack displays, scan the orders and deliver them to the cars of amazing customers.

Once the several extra truckloads of products arrive at the stores, teams can spend up to 10 hours unloading and stacking according to the approved plan. Often, team members from all departments are recruited to help set up for this two-week event.

In addition to processing these large orders through the check stands, eCommerce teams have worked hard to make this sale available to order online, which adds another layer of complexity. For the spring case lot, ARO had a total of 4,302 orders with 292,104 items sold, resulting in $493,899 in sales.

Special gratitude goes out to store teams for helping close the loop on the largest store promotion. For helping our guests save big and providing them with the best customer service around. Store team members are the last contact guests have and the positive impact is tremendous.

Steve Holm, district manager at ARO, said it best, “It’s great to be part of it all coming together. It makes you grateful for the buying team, logistics, the distribution center, the drivers, the advertising and marketing teams and so many others. Hats off to the entire team for making our case lot sale a super success.”
