Bee’s Marketplace, a beloved part of the Colorado City community, marked its 11th year in business with a video game-themed “LEVEL-UP 11” celebration on April 6, 2024. The event took place at their newly expanded 55,000 square-foot store, which opened its doors in 2021 to better serve the growing community.

Since its establishment in August 2013, Bee’s Marketplace has been a cornerstone of the Colorado City community. Recognizing the need for a larger store, Bee’s Marketplace expanded into a newer, larger facility. After nearly 18 months of construction, the new store was unveiled, offering an array of new services and products to the eager residents of Colorado City.

The “LEVEL-UP 11” celebration saw each department of the store transformed to reflect popular games like Sonic, Pac-Man, Minecraft, Tetris, Stardew Valley, Rocket League, Wreck-it-Ralph, Super Mario, and Legends of Zelda. Customers enjoyed door busters, raffles, in-store quests, mini game prizes, food sampling, and exclusive promotions centered around the number “11”. The event also featured the fifth-grade choir singing team-building songs, a guitarist at The TEN45, and SugerBee mascot promoting apples, juice and smiles. Vendors, including Heath Seasoning, also participated in the celebration.

Trish Barlow, the store director at Bee’s Marketplace, said this event was to connect with the youth. “We did this concept because we wanted to make sure the youth know we are their store. The youth are who we are preparing and working for harder than ever, because they are the ones who are going to grow up and make this their hometown. The shoppers’ loyalty has to be built with trust, hard work and an amazing team. Why not give back where we can?”

The “LEVEL-UP 11” celebration was a fun and energetic event that demonstrates Bee’s Marketplace’s ability to connect with the community and provide fun shopping experiences for shoppers young and old.
