As we celebrate the holidays, I want to pause and say thank you.
This year has been a strong one for Associated Food Stores, and that’s because of the work you do every day. Our retailers continued to grow and succeed in their stores, serving their communities in ways only independent grocers can. We made important improvements in our distribution center that are already helping us operate more efficiently and support our stores more reliably. And across the company, teams took on the hard work of improving processes and finding better ways to get things done. Those efforts may not always get the spotlight, but they make a real difference.
What I appreciate most is the commitment you show to our retailers and to each other. Whether you’re in a store, a distribution center, on the road or in an office, you show up, solve problems and get things done. That consistency and teamwork are what keeps AFS moving forward. It helps create a virtuous cycle of success.
I also know this is the busiest season of the year for our industry. The days are long, and the pace doesn’t slow down. Even so, I hope you’ll find time to be with your family and friends, recharge and enjoy the season. You’ve earned it.
Thank you for the effort, care and pride you bring to your work. I’m grateful for this team and for what we’re building together. I wish you and your loved ones a safe and happy holiday season.
