At AFS, the people come first — and Team Appreciation Week is proof of that.

From Monday through Friday, April 13–17, AFS pulled out all the stops to honor the team members who show up, work hard, and make a difference every single day. What unfolded was a week full of good food, genuine connection, and well-deserved recognition.

It kicked off with team photos on Monday, giving colleagues a chance to capture memories with the people they work alongside. Tuesday and Thursday brought the popular soda shop and cookies to the lunchroom, where employees could build their own custom sodas and enjoy pink cookies — all served by the executive team themselves, a meaningful gesture that speaks volumes about AFS’ leadership culture. Wednesday’s lunchtime Bingo brought out some friendly competition and smiles, with prizes adding to the excitement.

The week closed out on Friday with the first Grill and Gather of the year — hot dogs, brats, drinks, and dessert supplied by AFS, with team members invited to bring a side dish to share.

And the spirit of appreciation didn’t stop at the lunchroom. A Gratitude Wall near the NE employee entrance gave everyone a space to write personal shout-outs, while the Accolades platform let team members submit digital APPLAUSE recognitions — all of which were added to the wall, ensuring every kind word found its place.

The Farr West location joined in the spirit as well, hosting its own meals, treats, giveaways, and a beautifully decorated cafeteria that set the tone for the week.

What makes Team Appreciation Week more than just a series of fun events is what it reflects about AFS as an organization: a genuine commitment to looking after its own. When leadership serves cookies, when peers write notes of gratitude, when the whole company pauses to say thank you — that’s a culture worth celebrating.
