The AFS annual golf tournament took place the weekend of August 9 at Round Valley Golf Course in Morgan, drawing 32 teams of four made up of Farr West Distribution Center team members, corporate staff, family, friends, and retirees. The event combined competition, fun, and the chance to spend quality time together outside of work.
Some participants arrived the night before to camp out, turning the tournament into a full weekend experience. On Saturday, the Cobra Kai team claimed the prize for lowest score with a 57. Pat Johnson’s group took home the best dressed award for their “War and Peace” theme, featuring camouflage and 70s hippie outfits. Additional prizes, made possible by generous vendor and supplier donations, added more spice to the celebration.
Terri Jensen, distribution manager, shared her appreciation for the day. “It’s always such a great event,” she beamed. “Playing together creates a sense of belonging across teams and departments that carry back into our work in a meaningful way.”
The tournament is one of many things that AFS supports to strengthen its culture—one that values teamwork, fun, and shared experiences that bring people together.
