Happy Halloween from Associated Food Stores! - 2026

With Halloween happening tomorrow, Associated Food Stores is recognizing the teams helping guests prepare for the holiday. From candy and pumpkins to bakery treats and party supplies, stores are helping families get ready for their celebrations.

National data highlights the holiday’s importance for grocers. According to a national 2026 Halloween survey, consumers are expected to spend $13.5 billion on Halloween purchases, including $4.1 billion on candy. The survey also found that 61 percent of consumers plan to hand out candy. Those plans represent an opportunity for AFS members to help guests prepare with well-stocked candy aisles, seasonal displays and convenient party foods. Macey'S Granger Halloween 2026

Seasonal displays and familiar favorites are part of the experience. Store teams are keeping products stocked, answering questions and helping guests find what they need for trick-or-treating and weekend gatherings.

Behind those store preparations is the work of the Farr West distribution center and transportation teams. From receiving products and moving them through the warehouse to loading trailers and delivering orders, team members help connect AFS members with the products their guests need. Their work supports stores as they prepare for seasonal shopping and customer celebrations.  Rawpixel 973117 Unsplash

Associated Food Stores extends a special thank-you to all the stores that hosted customer events this week. These celebrations gave families an opportunity to enjoy Halloween with their local store teams. AFS appreciates everyone who planned activities, prepared the stores and welcomed guests.

The holiday is also an opportunity to connect with the communities AFS members serve. Whether helping a guest find a favorite treat or welcoming a family to an event, team members help make those visits personal.

At the corporate office, team members will celebrate today with department decorations, a costume contest and trick-or-treating for children. Thanks to everyone taking part in Halloween activities and helping guests enjoy the season.
