Macey’s in Provo celebrated the completion of its extensive remodel with a grand-opening celebration on Wednesday, March 23 at 10 a.m. The store is located at 1400 North State Street in Provo and the Macey’s team is excited about the many new offerings in store for guests.

Several Macey’s leaders spoke at the event including David Rice, Darin Peirce, Jan Whiteley, Steve Skinner and Dave Fischer. Leaders expressed gratitude to the store team, AFS teams, vendors and suppliers who contributed to the large project. Ken Macey, son of founder Walt Macey, attended the event and participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

One of the main attractions of the remodeled Provo Macey’s is the addition of the company’s first Red Button Vintage Creamery Treat Shop. With the addition, Macey’s guests should have no question where they can find a delicious, authentic ice cream, milkshake or gourmet cookie.

After the ribbon-cutting event, a special acknowledgment was given to team members who contributed to the creation, development and execution of the treat shop.

“We always aim to improve our ability to serve the community,” said David Rice, president of Associated Retail Operations (ARO). “This store, like others we’ve remodeled, takes concentrated effort and collaboration with so many teams and individuals. It’s always rewarding to see so many people come together to deliver an even better experience to our shoppers.”

Along with the Red Button Vintage Creamery Treat Shop, the store has also added a Starbucks which is sure to be a popular destination. Additionally, all the store’s fresh departments and center store areas experienced a significant upgrade with new fixtures, freezers and lighting to highlight the bright new look.

“This is something we have worked hard to create, and we are excited to offer it to the community,” said Darin Peirce, vice president of ARO. “We appreciate the patience of our wonderful customers through the construction process.  As always, we have kept our customers’ best interests in mind and hope people will enjoy the new enhancements.”
