Kent’s Market, together with Swire Coca-Cola, Associated Food Stores and other community partners, donated more than $74,000 to Shriners Children’s Salt Lake City during a check presentation Tuesday afternoon.
The donation was presented at a holiday event at the hospital, where retailers and partners spent time visiting with patients and families and learning more about the specialized pediatric orthopedic care Shriners provides. The annual gathering has become a longstanding tradition for Kent’s Market and its partners.
“Supporting Shriners is one of the highlights of our year,” said Jon Fawson, CEO of Kent’s Market. “Their mission, compassion and commitment to children perfectly align with our values as a hometown community grocer. We are honored to come together with our community partners to make a meaningful impact.”
This year’s contribution reflects continued collaboration among Kent’s Market, Coca-Cola, AFS and fellow MRO retailers, who work together to raise funds throughout the holiday season. The money supports Shriners Children’s programs, which offer treatment regardless of a family’s ability to pay.
“At Associated Food Stores, we believe we’re selling more than groceries, we’re selling memories, happiness and building true partnerships and friendships with our members and their communities,” said Boyd Irving, vice president of center store at Associated Food Stores. “Every year, Kent’s Market, and our partners, show what it means to be community-driven. Their commitment to supporting families, especially through partners like Shriners Children’s, is something we’re proud to stand behind. It’s an honor to be part of a team that comes together to make a real difference for kids who need it most.”
Shriners Children’s Salt Lake City provides pediatric orthopedic care for a wide range of conditions, including therapy, custom mobility devices, orthotics and prosthetics and specialized imaging.
