Ouray Grocery has new owners in the picturesque Colorado town. Brian and Kelly Howerton, along with their daughters Kaitlyn and McKenzy, are the new faces behind the locally loved store. The store’s Instagram page introduced the Howertons in a recent post, welcoming them to the community.
Brian brings more than 30 years of grocery experience to the business, while Kelly has spent the past 25 years working in elementary education. The couple, who have celebrated many anniversaries in Ouray, say they’re thrilled to now call the mountain town home.
The Howerton’s have strong ties to western Colorado—Brian spent many childhood summers on his grandparents’ farm in the Montrose and Olathe area.
Their daughter Kaitlyn, a third-grade teacher, will be spending the summer in Ouray to help at the store. McKenzy is currently completing a degree in radiology.
The store was previously owned by Thomas and Alyssa Fedel.
