Each day, early in the morning, bakery team members are hard at work baking and preparing fresh goodies for guests to enjoy. Doughnuts are one of their most loved creations.

Friday, June 7 is National Doughnut Day, a fun food holiday that spotlights one of the most popular items in the bakery. National Doughnut Day was created in 1938 by the Salvation Army to honor volunteers who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I. Today, it has become a favorite food holiday for doughnut lovers across the country.

ARO stores will celebrate by giving a free glazed doughnut to the first 25 guests at each store and by providing a free doughnut with the first 10 online orders. This initiative not only promotes delicious offerings but also engages the guests in a fun and rewarding way.

Jill Carter, ARO bakery sales manager, expresses her excitement about this event, “Our bakery team loves a chance to put the spotlight on doughnuts. They’re one of our most popular treats, and we’re excited to share these new flavors with our customers.”

For team members looking to celebrate, all the classic doughnuts will be available along with the two June doughnut of the month flavors; the Sundae the Strawberry Boston doughnut. The doughnut of the month program is just one of the many innovative programs the bakery team has developed.

“The bakery team is always innovating and looking for new products to bring to the bakery,” Dan Hilgenberg, AFS director of bakery, shared. “We thrive on creativity and are constantly experimenting with new flavors and concepts to bring to our guests.”
