Associated Food Stores has recently introduced Phase 1 of its Blue Yonder Workforce Management (WFM) Mobile App for team members at the AFS corporate office and distribution center, providing easy, mobile access to key employee self-service tools.

The rollout follows the successful completion of system testing and is an important step in AFS’s broader workforce technology initiative focused on improving access, flexibility and efficiency for team members and managers.

“This launch represents a meaningful improvement in how our team accesses and manages workforce information,” said Scott Phillips, vice president of information technology. “By bringing these tools to mobile devices, we’re making it easier for team members to get what they need, when they need it and doing it in a secure and reliable way.”

With Phase 1 now live, AFS team members can download the app and use Employee Self Service (ESS) features such as viewing work schedules, checking vacation and sick time accruals, submitting time-off requests and reviewing time punches.

Managers can switch between the manager view and the employee self-service view within the app. Manager tools include reviewing and approving time-off requests, along with submitting their own time-off requests.

“Phase 1 is about modernizing everyday workforce processes and removing unnecessary barriers,” Scott said. “This technology streamlines routine tasks for our team.”

While the app is now available to AFS team members at the corporate office and distribution center, it is also launching concurrently at Associated Retail Operations (ARO), extending the same mobile capabilities to ARO teams as part of a coordinated rollout.

AFS and ARO leaders said additional phases are planned, with future enhancements building on the foundation established in Phase 1.

“Moving from testing into implementation is an exciting milestone,” Scott said. “This effort reflects extensive collaboration across teams and establishes a strong foundation for future enhancements.”
