As snow finally settles into the mountains and holiday lights glow across Park City, a special tradition continues each Christmas Day at Fresh Market. While many are at home celebrating with family, a group of retail team members, volunteers, drivers and leaders from across Associated Food Stores step up to serve the community when it’s needed most.

This year, that effort included AFS President and CEO David Rice, Division Manager Chris Otteson, Nash Giravi, Park City assistant manager, and Chris Ray, produce manager from Macey’s Pinebrook. They joined the Fresh Market Park City team and volunteers from other stores to help make sure residents and travelers had access to essential groceries and services on Christmas Day.

Just as important were the people working behind the scenes. Wholesale team members, drivers, and support staff kept everything running (often in tough weather) by coordinating deliveries and operations during one of the busiest times of the year. Their work made the entire effort possible.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the dedication and selflessness shown by our retail teams, wholesale team members, drivers, and support staff during the holidays,” said David Rice. “Choosing to serve others, especially when it means time away from your own family, truly reflects the spirit of the season. Thank you for everything you do.”

This Christmas Day tradition reflects what Associated Food Stores is all about: showing up, working together, and putting community first. It’s a reminder that the teamwork demonstrated during the holidays is the same teamwork that carries AFS forward all year long.
