Fans of Hot Wheels and monster trucks gathered at Dick’s Market in Centerville on Friday, Sept. 5, for a special appearance by the ‘Skelesaurus’ monster truck, part of the Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live: Glow-N-Fire tour

The event, held from 3 to 6 p.m., featured giveaways and monstrous entertainment for families. Store leader Stephanie Stewart said the event was a huge success.

“Thank you to everyone that helped make this event possible at our store, we had so much fun,” Stephanie said. “We also had some great sales to go with it. We decided to hand out drinks, chips and of course free torch cone coupons to get them in the store.”

The promotion paid off, with ice cream sales more than doubling compared to a typical Friday. The bakery also saw strong sales, with Hot Wheels-themed cupcakes and cookies nearly selling out.

Foot traffic also increased, with guest count rising nearly 12 percent compared to the same Friday last year. Families who attended enjoyed the chance to see the massive “Skelesaurus” monster truck up close, adding to the excitement of the afternoon.

“Events like the Hot Wheels Monster Truck appearances are a fantastic way to bring communities together,” said Victoria Burgamy, AFS marketing specialist. “They give fans of all ages a chance to connect, make memories and experience the excitement of something special at their local grocer.”
