Macey’s beloved mascot, Kong, is turning 13, and everyone is invited to join the celebration. Kong’s influence can be found throughout the store, but he’s best known for Kong Kones, the towering Kong-sized soft serve ice cream cones available in the deli area.
The celebration starts Monday, August 4, with coloring pages, birthday doughnuts and special-edition Kong Kones and shakes available throughout the week.
On Saturday, August 9, guests of all ages are invited to compete in a Kong Kone eating contest, starting at 2:00 p.m. Winners will receive a gift bag which includes free Kong Kones for a year.
“Kong has been a big part of the Macey’s family for 13 years,” shared Greg Welling, vice president of Macey’s. “Kong Kones have become a tradition for many families, and we love getting to celebrate with our guests.”
